India Tour of Australia: India’s Five Fabulous Test Victories

India is touring to Australia from 24 November 2014 to 10 January 2015 for a four test match series. Last time when India played in Australia in 2011-12 for the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy , the host humiliated Indians in all the departments of the game and whitewashed the four game series. India could not win a Test series in Australia till date. So far India had won only five Test matches in Australian land. Let’s have a look at those ever cherishing victories by Team India.

The second match in the Border–Gavaskar Trophy at the Adelaide had all the beauty of a Test match. The two top teams in the world cricket horned together in a nail biting match and there were enough goosebumps moments for the fans. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. Ricky Ponting with a magnificent double century (242) provided Aussies the advantage. Justin Langer (58 runs) and Simon Katich (75 runs) extended good support while and tail end batsman Gillespie’s quick 48 runs helped Australia to reach 556 Runs in the first innings. 1992 world cup was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand for the first time. This was the fifth edition of ICC world cup and Pakistan won the tournament beating England in the final. Let us check some of the interesting facts in the 1992 Benson and Hedges Cricket World Cup.
