Less known Facts: A.B. de Villiers


1.      AB at an age of 4 used to carry drinks to his brothers while they play cricket for an opportunity to  bat at the end of the day.

2.     A.B. de Villiers’ born in 17 February, 1984 and his favorite number is 17. He is known as Abbas in the friends.

3.      The most scary thing in A.B. de Villiers’ life is snakes.

4.    Apart from cricket, he has lots of interest in music. He writes songs, plays the guitar as a part-time musician. In August 2010 he released an album with Ampie du Preez namely “Maak Jou Drome Waar”.

5.    Everybody knows that he is one of the best fielders in the world cricket, but he has a unique record in his kitty, he took 11 catches in a Test match against Pakistan in 2013 and became the first wicket-keeper to score a ton and claim 10 dismissals in a Test.

6.     There is no doubt about his cricket talent but if you look at his achievement in other sports you will admire him as a true sports person. Look at the AB De Villiers’ achievements in other sports :

He was shortlisted for South Africa’s junior national hockey and football  team.

Captained South Africa in junior national rugby.

Holds six South African school swimming records.

AB was a member of South Africa’s junior Davis Cup tennis team.

He was South Africa’s U-19 national badminton champion.

7.    His favorite football team is Manchester United.
