1. Brendan Taylor’s Last ODI innings for Zimbabwe

The unsung hero of Zimbabwe cricket declared his retirement before the match against India. Taylor, one of the best batsman in the history of Zimbabwe cricket, made his last knock in Zimbabwe jersey memorable. A brilliant century with awesome hitting put Indian bowlers under pressure for the first time in the series.

He became the only Zimbabwe batsman to score a back to back century in the World Cups. Taylor could have leave as a victorious captain if the Zimbabwe fielders grabbed the opportunities in the field.

2. Mahmudullah Riyad’s century against England

Mahmudullah walked out to bat against England when his team was struggling 8 for 2. A matured and class act from the Bangladeshi batsman proved vital in the Bangladesh total. He along with wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahim steadied the innings with a brilliant partnership of 141 runs.  Mahmudullah Riyad created history at Adelaide Oval by becoming the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a hundred in the World Cups.

3. Tim Southee’s 7/33.

A swing bowling masterclass from Tim Southee destroyed the England in the group match. England was bowled out for 123 in just 33.2 overs. A world cup where the batsman are dominating and most of the teams cross the 300 mark, Southee’s brilliant swing bowling performance stands tall.

4. Chris Gayle Double Hundred

Double hundreds in the ODIs were only an Indian affair before the match between West Indies and Zimbabwe. Once again we saw the Gayle storm demolishing the opposition. Gayle’s 215 was the first double century at the World Cup and beat the tournament’s previous highest individual score of 188 not by South Africa’s Gary Kirsten.

India Vs Pakistan cricket match is always a crowd pulling sports event. The rivalry between these two teams counted as the biggest in the sports arena. In the match against South Africa, Yasir Shah of Pakistan made a brave but fruitless attempt stop the ball near boundary. But Worse was to follow as millions of TV viewers around the world got a glimpse of Yasir’s pristine white Y-fronts as his trousers got caught in the boundary ropes.

8. Joyce freed on bail

Ireland’s Ed Joyce was the luckiest in the match against the United Arab Emirates in Brisbane. Amjad Javed’s delivery hit on the stumps and the LED lights on the bails flashed. But to every bodies surprise the bails safely landed back in its grooves. Ed Joyce, who stood his ground as seamer Javed celebrated prematurely, was not out.

9. Glenn Maxwell joking with the Auckland Crowd

During New Zealand’s chase to 152 runs against Australia, Glenn Maxwell joked with the Auckland crowd by showing some gestures (clasping his hands around his throat) indicating that New Zealand would collapse and loose that game. Soon after this incident Kayne Williamson hit a six over the head of Maxwell for a dramatic one wicket win.

10. Bugs interrupted the play

The match between New Zealand and Bangladesh at Hamilton was interrupted briefly at many times because of some black bugs entered in the ground and players asked for the insects sprayers.
