Virat Kohli hails from the national capital of India. He was born on 05 November 1988. He did his schooling at Vishal Bharti and Savier Convent. He started his career playing for Delhi U-15 team in 2002-03.  Kohli came to lime light when became the top scorer in the prestigious  Vijay Merchant Trophy cricket tournament for U-17 for Delhi, which makes his way to Delhi senior team. Virat Kohli was the captain of India U-19 team which won the world cup held in Malaysia in 2008. He scored a total of 398 runs from seven matches including two centuries and two fifties and was the leading run scorer in the tournament. In the year 2008 Kohli was selected to the Indian ODI squad for Sri Lanka. Though he is a middle order batsman, in his debut match he played as an opening batsman.

Kohli holds the record of fastest century (52 balls) by an Indian batsman in ODI. He has already have 19 ODI centuries from 138 matches in his kitty. Many of the Indian cricket fans considering that he is the successor of Sachin Tendulkar. Vivian Richards, the former West Indies cricket legend once stated that Kohli reminds him of himself. Martin Crowe, former New Zealand captain wrote in a column for a sports channel that Virat Kohli “exudes the intensity of Rahul Dravid, the audacity of Virender Sehwag, and the extraordinary range of Sachin”.
